Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting devices to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace worn or damaged components such as motors, gears, brakes, cables, and control systems to minimize downtime.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed using hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to meet operational specifications.
- Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, excavators, or other machinery required for crane maintenance tasks.
- Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to diagnose complex issues accurately.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and safety documentation in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with overhead cranes or similar industrial lifting equipment; dealership experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical skills with knowledge of fabrication, hydraulics, suspension systems, transmissions, air brakes, HVAC systems for industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with OEM components and schematics for Caterpillar or other heavy equipment brands.
- Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, soldering, welding, and assembly of mechanical parts.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics combined with experience in vehicle maintenance including brake repair and tire service is advantageous.
- Skilled in the use of power tools and hand tools for equipment repair or fabrication tasks.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients.
